Terms of Service

Overview

These terms govern your use of the WOTD app and the optional Gift Postcard feature within it (together, the "Service"), provided by Wong Jin Quan, the developer of the app, based in Singapore ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The App

WOTD delivers one curated English word each day, with its definition, etymology, and an example of use. It's free to download and use. The daily word is meant for enrichment and entertainment — please don't rely on it as an authoritative reference for academic or competitive use.

Gift Postcards

The Gift Postcard feature lets you pay to have a physical postcard, printed with a Word of the Day and a short personal message, mailed to a recipient in the United States. We use Lob to print and mail postcards and Stripe to process payments.

• You must be at least 18 to purchase a Gift Postcard.
• Postcards can only be sent to addresses in the United States and its territories.
• The price is shown in the app before you confirm. You're charged when you tap "Pay".
• Standard delivery is about 7–10 business days via USPS. We can't guarantee delivery times.
• Once you confirm payment, your order goes into our printing queue and can't be cancelled. If you've made a mistake, email us and we'll do what we can — but we can't promise the postcard hasn't already been printed and mailed.
• If a postcard is returned as undeliverable, we'll email you to arrange a free re-send or a refund.
• For printing defects or our errors, contact us within 14 days for a refund.

Message Content

You're responsible for the personal message you choose to print. We screen messages before printing, and we'll reject any order containing prohibited content, including:

• Hate speech, slurs, threats, or harassment
• Sexually explicit content
• Someone else's private information, shared without their consent
• Illegal content, or impersonating someone you're not

If your order is rejected for prohibited content, we'll refund your payment in full.

You keep ownership of your message. By submitting it, you grant us a limited licence to print it on a postcard and mail it, solely to fulfil your order.

If a third party brings a claim against us arising from your message, your breach of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights, you agree to defend and reimburse us.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the app reliable and to deliver every postcard, but we can't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that USPS will deliver every postcard on time. You use the Service at your own risk.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the order in question.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the updated terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under your local law still apply.
